Greetings from Fallen Leaf Lake (just south of Lake Tahoe)--been basically sitting in a postcard these last couple of days--beautiful country, I have to say. Here's a bit more on compassion...
"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
Colossians3:12-14
I'd comment except that it'd be redundant...I'll just add that 1 John 4 also talks about the mark of the christian is the ability to love and forgive and empathize.
